We are not going to tell you that small wedding venues are a better choice than large wedding venues, but we are going to tell you that small wedding venues should not be rejected simply because they are small.  Oftentimes, when it comes to wedding venues, and the renting of them, great things come in small packages, and we would hate for you to miss out on quality, reasonably priced, affordable wedding venues simply because of some preconceived notion about size.

Define small wedding venues

What defines wedding venues as being small wedding venues or large wedding venues?  It’s an interesting question which really has no answer.  For example, Tarrant Events Center can handle weddings with between 50-300 guests, depending upon the configuration of our floor design.  Obviously, fifty guests would be described as a small wedding by most people, but are 300 guests a large gathering?  500?  We really don’t know, and we are in this business.

To our way of thinking, budget will determine how many guests can be invited to a wedding.  In addition, what is small for one couple may seem large for another.  Our opinion: rent a location which can handle a wide-range of guests, giving you the option to add to your guest list as the planning stage unfolds.

Is there any correlation between a small wedding venue and cost? We don’t believe there is. We know of “small wedding venues” which cost $10,000 for an event. We know of large wedding venues which cost $1,000 per event.  The market will bear what the market will bear, and it is up to the customer to sort it all out.

Flexibility in design is the key

When looking at wedding venues, look for flexibility in design.  For example, Tarrant Events Center has ten floor plans to choose from.  We also have an acre of landscaped grounds, giving you more flexibility.  Perhaps you would like to hold the wedding and reception at the same location.  Places like Tarrant Events Center give you that flexibility and save you money in the process.  Rather than renting two locations, for the wedding venues and reception venues, you only rent one location for both.

If you want to do the cooking yourself, feel free.

The bottom line about small wedding venues is this: small does not have to mean limited. Small can mean creativity in design. Small can mean as large as your imagination can conjure up.
