after wedding party option to save money

Shopping for wedding venues is stressful. There is no other way to describe the experience.  You want everything to be perfect.  You want the actual venue to match your vision.  You want everything to go perfectly, and you want it all to fit into your budget.

We can help! We are Tarrant Events Center, serving the Greater Fort Worth area, and we know a thing or two about outstanding, affordable wedding venues. Call us at 817-996-3636 with your questions, and if you live in the Fort Worth area, call us for a tour of our event space rental.

And now, five things to beware of when shopping for inexpensive wedding venues.

Make sure you know what you are getting

What is included in the event hall rental?  Are tables and chairs available? Is there a sound system? How about a stage? A finishing kitchen? Separate VIP rooms?  Is there adequate parking?  Is there WiFi and are there video monitors?

Our suggestion: make a list of everything you need for your “perfect” wedding ceremony.  Then use that as a checklist when viewing event centers.  Take your time and ask about each item on your list at every venue you visit.  This may seem tedious but it will eliminate confusion in the end.

Watch out for hidden costs

At Tarrant Events Center, we offer all of our clients all-inclusive pricing. That means there are no hidden costs, period, end of story. The price you agree upon when you sign the contract is the final price you will pay.  Sadly, that is not true of all wedding venues.

Our suggestion: ask each venue that you tour if they have all-inclusive pricing. If they do not, stop the tour and move on to the next one on your list.

Who is doing the cooking?

Who is providing the catering? Who is providing the entertainment/music? Who is doing the decorating?  Some wedding venues include these things in their contract.  Make sure you are clear about who is doing what.

Our suggestion: contract out with individual vendors for food, drinks, entertainment, and decorations.  You can save hundreds of dollars by doing it that way rather than agreeing to have the wedding venue management group obtain a food service or entertainment for you.

How much time do you have for set-up/take-down?

Make sure you are clear about this. Time is money in the venue-renting business. Some venues will give you a half-hour; some will give you an hour.

Our suggestion: get it down in writing and then make sure you can do set-up and take-down in that allotted time.

Do you have options?

What do we mean by options? Tarrant Events Center has ten different floor plans to choose from. We have a moveable stage. We have indoor and outdoor wedding venues options.  In other words, we work hard to make our venue match your vision.

Our suggestion: the more options the better! Rigid rules do not a happy wedding make!  Ask about options!
