Let’s answer some questions about reception halls.

What do reception venues cost?

This is, by far, the #1 question asked about reception venues.  What is it going to cost you?

We can tell you that our own Tarrant Events Center rents for between $2000-$3000, depending upon the day of the week. That price puts us in the average range for a venue rental.  It is entirely possible in your city that you can find an adequate place for your reception for less than $2000. It is also entirely possible that you will find reception venues costing more than $2000. Such is the nature of supply and demand in any city.  The going rate for an event space rental will differ from city to city and from venue to venue within any city.

If you were looking for “one price fits all,” forget about it. That is not the case in the event center industry.

What is included in reception venues rentals?

Now it really starts to get interesting. What is included in the rental price also varies from venue to venue, and it will require some sleuthing on your part to find the best rental package.

What might be included?  Tables, chairs, linens . . . those are the basics.  At our own Tarrant Events Center, you also get a choice from ten floor plans, a finishing kitchen, two VIP rooms, a moveable stage, cordless mikes, over an acre of landscaped grounds, multiple large video screens, and a state-of-the-art sound system.  Again, this is not standard from venue to venue, so ask around and find the best deal offered.

Are there surcharges? How many hours do I have the rental? And more!

Surcharges are the bane of the event center industry.  Many an unsuspecting client has been charged hidden fees they were unaware of.  Our advice: demand all inclusive pricing. This will protect you from surcharges and guarantee that you only pay what you agreed upon at the time of the rental agreement signing.

The hours also vary from venue to venue. There are also half-day rentals and full-day rentals.  And make sure you ask about parking.  You will want ample parking and, if possible, overflow parking, available.

And what about insurance? Will you need rental insurance? The quick answer to that question is a resounding YES! The event venue is only liable for accidents caused on their property because of their liability. All other mishaps are not covered, so you definitely need inexpensive rental insurance.

That’s enough information to get you started. Go forth and find the best of the best among the reception venues in your city.
