Whether we are talking about a corporate meeting space or a wedding venue, location matters if you want to draw the biggest crowd possible. Centrally-located, with easy access to major arterials/ highways, is a must.  People do not want to be inconvenienced, certainly not when they are attending an event.  Woodstock 1969 was an anomaly; make sure your event space rental is easy to travel to.


People attending an event do not want to walk long distances from parking to the event. Make sure you have ample parking, and make sure you have room for overflow parking in case your crowd estimates were too low.
