Birthday venues options.

Don’t worry about finding birthday venues to choose from; unless you live in the country, hundreds of miles from a city, you have options.  From birthday party places like Chuckee Cheese, to party room rentals like the backrooms of restaurants or the VFW Hall, you have options.  And don’t rule out outdoor party venues; the Great Outdoors offers advantages you will never have from indoor party venues.

A checklist before you rent.

In choosing a party space rental, there are some very important things you will want to consider

First, always, the cost. Unless you are rich, the rental fee is going to be important.  You can narrow down your list of possibles very quickly simply be setting a rental budget and sticking to it.

Second, what amenities are included in the rental fee?  In other words, the more freebies you can attach to that rental cost, the better.

Third, how convenient is the location or attendees? You can rent the coolest place on Earth, but if attendees are going to have a hard time getting there, it’s going to be a very small, lonely birthday party.

Fourth, is the venue age appropriate?  The aforementioned Chuckee Cheese is not going to work for Grandma Moses.

Fifth, what is the guest capacity of the party hall rental? If your guest list is 100, make sure the venue can hold 100 within the fire code statutes.

Sixth, will you be able to transform the venue into the birthday place you envision.  In other words, you have a vision of the perfect birthday party; can you make that vision a reality in a specific venue?

A checklist once you rent.

Once you have rented from your list of birthday venues, it will then be time to begin planning and preparing for the big event.

There are some very detailed checklists available on line, but for the sake of this discussion, here are the basics in planning a birthday party:

  • Pick a date and time
  • Make a list of people to invite
  • Find a venue
  • Decide on a theme
  • Send invitations
  • Get decorations and party favors
  • Plan food and beverages
  • Order a cake

Our suggestion: set the date and make the reservation as soon as possible. Places like our own Tarrant Events Center take reservations a full year in advance.  This is wonderful in that it gives you ample time to brainstorm, plan, and execute without feeling rushed. It also gives you the best opportunity to secure the venue you like on the date you want.
