Let’s walk you through a very common mistake people make when renting a wedding venue. They set a date for their wedding. Usually, there is some significance to the date they set; in other words, it is an important date in their lives, and it is about to be even more important when they get married on that date.
They then put together a to-do list, things which must be done prior to the wedding date. They begin to put together their invitation list. They sit down and brainstorm other important facets of the wedding. Then, with about six months left before the date they have chosen, they start looking at venues, only to find out that their chosen date is completely taken at all of the venues they visit.
The worst disaster imaginable and it was avoidable.
Event space rentals take reservations a full year in advance, and our first words of wisdom for you is that as soon as you choose a date, you go out immediately and attempt to reserve that date. Do not wait a week, do not wait a month, do not wait at all.

We will now let you in on a little industry secret: Not all event room rentals are the same. They are all different, and they all offer a different assortment of amenities. This is important to understand because you have a vision of what the perfect wedding will look like, but it may be entirely possible that many of the venues are unable, for a variety of reasons, to match your vision. One may not have VIP rooms in addition to the main room. One may not have an outdoor area in addition to the indoor area. One may not have video monitors, and one may not have a stage. Put another way, there is no “standard” when it comes to event venues.
Never settle for less than that vision statement.
And what if none of the affordable wedding venues have what you need? Our recommendation is a simple one: rent the venue which is closest to your needs, and get creative with the shortcomings.
