Honestly, we don’t understand how the average citizen can afford to have a wedding and a reception, and we are being perfectly honest when we say that.  Conservatively speaking, you can easily spend between $5000 and $10,000 just renting two venues for one day.  Add to that the cost of food at the reception, the cost of decorating for two events, the cost of servers, the cost of entertainment and, well, it is easy to see why weddings can be so stressful and so taxing for the finances.  Unless you are among the richest of the rich, weddings and receptions are major investments few people can afford.

Not being facetious at all when we say that City Hall is a very viable alternative, especially if money is tight, which it always seems to be for the bottom 95% of society.  You rent yourself a tuxedo and a wedding dress, drive to City Hall, pay for your wedding license, wait your turn, and a Justice of the Peace, or judge, will come out, say the magic words, marry you, and all for a couple hundred dollars.  Cheap, quick, and you are on your way to the honeymoon.
