What is the cancellation policy?
Life happens! It is not all that unusual for a private party to lay down reservation money for a party room rental, only to have plans change and the party cancelled. What happens to your reservation deposit? Are you still liable to pay for the entire rental, in full, or is there a discount if you cancel one month in advance? Two months in advance? Three? The party space rental may be reserved shortly after your cancellation. Does that negate any penalties you may owe? You need to know these things before signing any contract.
What about WiFi capabilities?
It should come as no surprise that WiFi is not the same for all of us. Depending upon where you live, or in this case where the party space rental is located, you may or may not receive good WiFi service. It’s important to nail this down before your party if you should need WiFi during your party.
Can you bring in outside suppliers?
Food suppliers . . . decoration supplies . . . entertainers . . . are you free to use your own, or are you required to only hire the suppliers on the event hall preferred list? Believe it or not, some party room rentals require you to find contract with suppliers on their list of preferred suppliers. It’s important that you are aware of this before entering into an agreement.
How much time do you have for set-up and take-down?
Do you have an hour to set-up and take-down for your party? More time? Less? Party venues have specific hours, and any time other than those specific hours will cost you a per-hour fee. Make sure you ask about this before signing on the dotted line.
Ask for all-inclusive pricing
For the uninitiated, all-inclusive pricing, like that offered by Tarrant Events Center, means the final price is stated at the time of the reservation, for a full year in advance. There are no hidden fees. There are no last-minute surprise charges or additions to the bill. You would be amazed how many times this happens to unsuspecting customers who suddenly have to come up with an extra hundred dollars, or more, to pay for a fee they were not aware of.
