They differ in cost and they differ in the amenities they offer. It can be confusing shopping for affordable wedding venues, and it is our hope that this article will clear, a bit, the muddy waters of the wedding venue industry.

We promised you some answers to the most common questions, so let’s get to it.
The size of small wedding venues
There is no industry standard with regards to the size of a wedding venue. We have seen venues which can only hold 100 guests. We have seen them which can hold 1,000 guests or more. Generally speaking, the larger the venue, the more expensive it is. Figure out your guest list, the total number attending, and figure out your budget. Those two figures will give you a starting point for your search.
The cost of small wedding venues
Again, there is no industry standard regarding cost. We have seen wedding venues rent for a couple hundred per event, and we have seen then rent for ten-thousand per event. We would say to expect somewhere in the $500-$2000 range for a quality, professional wedding venue.
How early can you reserve an event hall rental?
Most event space rentals will take reservations a full year in advance. That is the industry standard. Make sure, if you sign a rental agreement, that you are locked in on that price for the time between signing and the actual event. And we strongly recommend that you begin your search a full year in advance in order that you find the best deal at the best price.
What is included in the rental price?
The list of amenities included in the rental price will vary wildly from venue to venue. For instance, our own Tarrant Events Center offers ten floor plans, several large screen monitors, a moveable stage, a finishing kitchen, tables, chairs, WiFi, a great sound system plus wireless mike, and over one acre of landscaped grounds adjacent to the event center. All are included in the rental price. If you can find a deal that good in your city, jump on it quickly.
A word of caution
Make sure you insist on all-inclusive pricing. In other words, you do not want hidden fees or last-minute charges added on the day of the wedding. Lock in on a price, and make sure the contract specifically mentions all-inclusive pricing.
