There are obviously many things to look for in winter wedding venues but, in our professional opinion, one is a deal-breaker. Read on to find out what that is.

Now, let’s turn our attention to winter wedding venues.
Winter wedding venues must meet your budget.
This is, obviously, a no-brainer for those out there who are not independently rich. The good news is there are many wedding venues, and affordable wedding venues, available to you. Our advice to you all: do not go above your budget. It is not necessary, and anything an affordable wedding venue is lacking, which you feel is essential, can be made up for with a little DIY creativity.
Step #1, then, is to limit your list of possibles to those which fit into your budget; remember, too, that there is more to a wedding expense than just the venue; you also need to budget for decorations, the reception halls, possibly entertainment, and food for the reception. The cost of an event space rental is only part of the budget picture.
Winter wedding venues must meet your vision.
Next, we will talk about your vision of a perfect wedding. What do you want that wedding to look like? Once you answer that question, you can begin to compare that vision to the event venues you look at.
With some venues, it will not be possible to achieve your vision. Some simply need some creative, do it yourself skills. Only you can answer whether you have those creative skills or not, but there is definitely good money to be saved by doing as much of the decorating yourself.
We also caution everyone that it might be a good idea to have a wedding venue which is close to family and friends. In winter weather, driving to an event is problematic, and it simplifies matters considerably if the attendees do not have to drive very far in inclement weather.
The deal-breaker you must insist upon.
All of the previous discussion was important, but not nearly as important as this final point.
Winter wedding venues pose a major problem, and that problem is Mother Nature. In some areas of the country, the Deep South for example, or San Diego, this may not be a problem, but do you really want to bet the success of a wedding on a hope?
Our recommendation is simple: rent a wedding venue which has indoor plus outdoor capabilities. That way, no matter what Mother Nature tosses at you on the day of the wedding, you will have options. Our own Tarrant Events Center has an indoor venue plus over an acre of landscaped grounds, meaning you have flexibility while planning for your life-changing event.
This, then, is the deal-breaker. You want as much flexibility in design as possible in your winter wedding venue; that way, no matter what problems arise, you have an answer.
