What are the seating capacities in small wedding venues?

We are going to attempt to answer this question about wedding venue cost in 2023.  Our crystal ball has some dust on it, but we think it’s still working with a high degree of accuracy.

Wedding venue cost is a tough topic during the best of times

What makes this issue so confusing is that there is no clear-cut answer to it.  Prices for wedding venues, in most cities, can range from $500-$10,000, so right out of the gate we have a problem with the cost estimate.

At our own Tarrant Events Center, our prices range from $2000-$3000 per event, depending upon the day of the week; it should be noted that the price stated is for a full day rental, as opposed to a half-day rental, which further complicates matters when estimating costs.  Our pricing puts us safely in the bottom third for wedding venues in the Fort Worth area but, again, that is only the Fort Worth area where that is true.

Wedding venue cost in 2023 and beyond

It is safe to assume that an event room rental will increase in price in 2023.  It seems like everything in the U.S. is increasing in price lately, so there is no reason to believe pricing for an event space rental will be any different.  How much will they increase? Toss a coin for the answer.  Venturing a guess, one should expect a 6%-10% increase in 2023 but, again, it depends on the city and the competition pricing.

Be very aware of secondary costs and all-inclusive pricing

And this is where it really gets confusing, so pay close attention to this next word of warning.

Read the rental contract very closely and pay attention to the fine print.  Make sure what you believe you are paying for is, in fact, what you are paying for.  Are there hidden fees? Will you be charged for linens even if you supply your own? Will there be a set-up or take-down fee? And what if you are five minutes late in vacating the wedding venue? What kind of surcharge will be added to your bill?

Tarrant Events Center has an all-inclusive pricing policy, meaning simply there are no hidden fees or surcharges. What you agree upon when signing the reservation is, in fact, what you will be paying.  Quite frankly, if you take nothing from this article other than this, it’s that you should insist upon an all-inclusive pricing policy before signing a reservation contract.

Did we answer the question?  To the best of our ability, yes, although we recognize it is not a satisfactory answer.  Our best word of advice: Make your reservation as quickly as possible, thus locking your reservation in at the current price, thus avoiding any price increase in the months ahead.
