Before you begin your search for a party venue rental, read this article. It will save you a lot of footwork and a lot of headaches.
We are Tarrant Events Center, and what we offer the Fort Worth area is an affordable and highly adaptable event center for all occasions. Call us at 817-996-3636 for more information and to arrange for a tour of our facility.
Now, though, let’s talk to you about mistakes you should avoid when looking for a party venue rental.
Read the fine print on a party venue rental contract.
So, here’s the thing: Despite all of us growing up hearing the words “read the fine print,” or “read the entire contract before you sign,” the fact is that only a small percentage of people actually do that. People are either much too busy to read the fine print, or much too bored with the whole process of signing a contract, or just naturally trust that what they assume is in the contract IS actually in the contract.
Read the whole contract, and the primary reason we suggest you do that is because of a thing called all inclusive pricing, a policy we actually have at Tarrant Events Center. This pricing policy states that there are no hidden fees or surcharges, that what you actually agreed upon in a verbal agreement is the price you will actually pay.
If your contract does not specifically state “all inclusive pricing,” do not sign it.
Not all party venue rental locations are the same.
This should be an obvious statement, but the reality of it is that there are huge differences from one party space rental to the next, and assuming that what you need will be available at any event room rental is simply a huge mistake.
Everyone has a vision of what their party will look like, but not all event space rentals can match all visions. You need to actually walk through with your to-do list and make sure you can make your dream party actually happen in the event center you are touring.
Spending more money than necessary on a party room rental.
It’s not the price of the event room rental that kills a budget; rather, it’s the price of food, decorations, entertainment, and other incidental expenses that will shoot a budget out of the water faster than you can say buzz kill.
Our suggestion: look for a party room rental which allow BYOB and BYOF, and has a finishing kitchen which will allow you to keep food at the ready for when you need it. In fact, the more you adopt a DIY attitude, the more money you are going to save on those secondary expenses.
Warning: Not all party space rentals allow BYOB, BYOF, or DIY, so make sure it is written in the contract you sign.
If we were to sum up the three mistakes we just mentioned into three simple words, those words would be READ THE CONTRACT!
