We take a look at small wedding venues

Searching for small wedding venues is stressful enough; doing so without all of the information you need is, well, disheartening and demoralizing.

Read this article before you step out your door. It will save you time, possibly save you money, and most definitely will save you headaches.

We are Tarrant Events Center, serving the Greater Fort Worth Metro area with our all-purpose and very affordable all-purpose event center. When it comes to the best that Fort Worth has to offer, call Tarrant Events Center at 817-996-3636 for more information.

Small wedding venues state and local restrictions.

Yes, the government has a say in event venues of all kinds, and most definitely in wedding venues.

What are the fire codes? What hours are you allowed to hold a large event? Do you need the following permits:

  • Building permit
  • Temporary use permit
  • Amplified sound permit
  • Food permit
  • Electrical permit
  • Park use permit
  • Entertainment permit

Are there accessibility issues to be concerned about? How about environmental issues to address?

In no way are we saying any of this is bad, or unwarranted, and many of these do not apply. We are simply saying you need to do your research before signing any lease agreement for an event space rental.

Liquor restrictions.

Obviously, this will apply to reception venues more than small wedding venues but still, it is worth noting in this article. What are the laws regarding the serving of alcohol in an event? You need to know ths and obtain the necessary permit for it.

Insurance concerns and size restrictions.

Do not for a second think that the building management carries sufficient insurance to cover any mishap which may occur during your wedding or reception. You would be terribly wrong in making that assumption.  Building ownership has liability insurance in case any accident occurs specifically related to the building and property. In other words, if a guest were to trip on a cracked sidewalk leading to the front door, fall down and break and arm, the building management would be liable. However, if that same guest tripped over amplifier cords at the reception, that liability falls squarely in your lap.  The good news is this: event insurance is relatively inexpensive!

And, then, we need to talk about fire restriction. What is the maximum number of guests permitted in any building? The building management knows this, for sure, but you need to be aware so you do not invite more people than can be safely inside the event room rental.

We have given you a great amount to think about; however, it is all important, it is all necessary, and you need to be aware. Thankfully, if you made your reservation a full year in advance, you have time to obtain all of the permits you need.

Then, you can turn your attention to which wedding song should be played at the ceremony. 😊
