This is a tricky question, is it not? “Affordable” for Elon Musk might be $50,000 for an eight-hour wedding venue rental, while “affordable” for you might be $1,000.

And that’s just the rental fee we are talking about. Add to that the cost of decorations, the cost of food, the cost of entertainment at the reception, and suddenly that “cheap wedding ceremony venues” idea seems like a pipe dream at best, and a nightmare at worst.

Our suggestion, if money is an important consideration, is to take care of all those incidentals yourself.  You, your friends, and your relatives, should take care of food preparation, of set-up and take-down, of decorations, and of entertainment. The more of those things that you can do yourself, the more money you are going to save.  Why pay a caterer or food truck $750 for food when your Aunt Martha makes a mean lasagna?  Why pay a club band $500 when your cousin is in a band?

Start your wedding planning early. The earlier you begin that planning, the more time you will have to find creative solutions to the “money crunch” dilemma most people face.
