A discussion about bridal shower venues

There is a vast lack of knowledge among the buying public about inexpensive wedding venues.  It’s not surprising, ,really, considering the huge number of wedding venues available, and the wide range of prices and amenities they all offer.  With that in mind, we offer this article about the real cost of inexpensive wedding venues i.e. affordable wedding venues.  We are Tarrant Events Center, serving the Greater Fort Worth area with our outstanding event center. Call us at 817-996-3636 for more information about our event space rental.

The first problem with inexpensive wedding venues

It’s the word “inexpensive” that presents such a problem, in our opinion, and it is the reason why we never use it in our advertising. What does “inexpensive,” or “affordable,” really mean?  Inexpensive to a single mother of four, working two minimum wage jobs, means a completely different thing than inexpensive to a young couple, both of whom have no debt, and both of whom have great-paying jobs.

And don’t even get us started talking about the rich and famous.

There are wedding venues which can be rented for as little as $500 for the day. There are wedding venues which will cost $10,000 per day.  The most we can say about this matter of inexpensive is that inexpensive is a purely subjective word, and there are wedding venues, available, at a variety of rental prices to fit a variety of income levels.

The unseen costs of inexpensive wedding venues

Having said all that, customers need to be aware of a very real truth in this industry: the real cost of most weddings is not the rental cost of the event room rental, but rather the unseen costs such as food, beverages, decoration, and entertainment.  Those “secondary costs” can easily far-outweigh the rental cost of a facility, so that it won’t make much difference if you rent an inexpensive wedding venue, because the secondary costs will sink your financial boat.

Suddenly, inexpensive becomes expensive

A good caterer can cost you $50-$75 per person attending. A good decorator can cost you hundreds per event. The same for bartenders, servers, and entertainment.  And having said all that, don’t forget the cost of reception venues, which will be at least the cost of the wedding venues.

All of this is to say that simply looking for inexpensive wedding venues does not prevent you from spending thousands of dollars, and you need to be aware of that.  How can you combat these rising costs? We have discussed this in previous articles.  Briefly, there are some steps you can take.  You can rent a venue like our own Tarrant Events Center, which has over an acre of landscaped grounds in addition to our indoor venue. This means that you could hold the wedding, and reception, at the same venue, a hug savings.

You can also adopt a DIY attitude, and with the help of friends and family, handle most of the duties for serving, bartending, catering, decorating, and entertainment.

In other words, there are ways to save money, so all is not lost, no matter what the wedding venue costs you.
